REVENUE ACCOUNTING MANAGER – Upstream Oil & Gas

Are you an experienced Upstream Oil & Gas Revenue Accounting professional with a passion for management and process improvements? Our Dallas-based oil & gas client seeks a dynamic Revenue Accounting Manager to lead the revenue accounting department. In this role, you’ll drive the monthly processing of oil & gas revenue in a complex, multi-entity environment. Partnering closely with our Upstream Controller and Chief Accounting Officer, you’ll help shape and improve accounting processes and controls, making a tangible impact on business operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Inspire and Guide: Mentor and develop the revenue accounting team.
- Revenue Management: Record and review operated and non-operated revenue, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Monthly Close Activities: Process monthly revenue distributions, record sales allocations, and prepare revenue accruals.
- Audit & Compliance: Manage ONRR and state tax audits, and ensure compliance with severance taxes and royalty payments.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work with production and midstream teams for accurate reporting of production and sales volumes.
- Reconciliation & Reporting: Reconcile revenue accounts, analyze variances, and document processes for compliance.
- Special Projects & Process Improvement: Participate in SOX control procedures, special projects, and initiatives to enhance our operations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
- Proven Experience: 8+ years in E&P revenue accounting, with at least 2 years in a management role.
- Technical Skills: ONRR reporting and Enertia accounting software experience a plus. Advanced Excel skills a must.
- Organizational Effectiveness: Excellent time management, organization, and an eye for detail.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to meet critical deadlines.
