Dallas Oil and Gas Company seeks a Financial Planning Manager to oversee the company’s financial performance, assist in preparing the long-term and annual budget, and provide strategic financial oversight, operational efficiency, and risk management. This is a high-impact role ideal for a candidate skilled in both detailed financial analysis and high-level strategic planning, especially one with a strong oil & gas background. The position reports to the Senior Vice President.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee and compile monthly budgeting and quarterly reports.
- Prepare and present financial and operating summaries to management and investors.
- Integrate forecasts with actual data and input from various parts of the organization.
- Track financial, operational, and strategic development within the company.
- Assist in analysis of Fund and asset level performance (Mark-to-Market, IRR, ROI, etc.)
- Identify opportunities for process optimization to streamline and improve financial models/systems.
- Collaborate cross-functionally and support the Accounting, Operations/D&C Management teams with business development as needed.
- Assist with A&D integration activities as needed.
- Responsible for Hedge Modeling, including:
- Maintaining summary tables of current hedge positions.
- Evaluating mark-to-market values of existing hedge portfolio.
- Initiating and executing new hedge transactions with AEGIS and counterparties.
- Working with the Treasurer and analyst to develop and create a new hedge modeling system.
- Provide timely financial analysis for key initiatives, including working capital and cash flow management.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Education & Industry Experience: Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or economics (MBA preferred) with relevant experience in finance and strategy within the oil & gas industry (op/non-op company, private equity, investment banking, audit, or financial services).
- Analytical Skills & Strategic Thinking: Extensive expertise in data analytics, financial modeling, and the ability to identify process optimization opportunities. Strategic business acumen is key.
- Communication & Leadership: Proficient in presenting financial insights to senior management, with strong skills in translating complex data into actionable insights.
- Adaptability & Process Improvement: A proactive, independent worker who is adept at both leading and supporting team efforts and excels at managing confidential, time-sensitive information.
