Oil & Gas company with operated and non-operated properties seeks a Controller to join the team. The ideal candidate will have solid leadership and operations accounting skills and the ability to guide the accounting staff to achieve professional goals. The Controller will report to the CAO. 

 RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Manage and develop a staff of oil & gas accounting professionals. 

• Oversee accounting operations, ensuring the accounting department generates accurate and timely results. 

• Monitor daily processes, lend assistance to projects, and problem-solve. 

• Ensure compliance with corporate policies, including monitoring internal controls, ensuring financial integrity, and safeguarding company assets. 

• Manage the general ledger, revenue, and AP accounting teams. 

• Review financial data for consistency, accuracy, and completeness. 

• Work with the IT group to research and resolve issues with accounting-related software. 

 REQUIREMENTS: 

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting. Active CPA certification is a plus. 

• 10+ years of upstream oil & gas accounting experience (general ledger, AP, and revenue), including a minimum of 3 years in an accounting supervisory position. 

• Experience with OGSYS and DocVue is a plus. 

• Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Office and have strong Excel skills.  

• Enjoy mentoring and guiding team members on accounting processes and transactions. 

• Ability to motivate staff to produce high-quality, accurate work while simultaneously managing several projects and tasks. 

• A proven track record in building trust and establishing rapport with accounting, operations, administrative team members, and external contacts. 

• Proactive and detail-oriented.
