Growth-oriented and highly successful oil & gas company seeks a Business Development Associate to join a fast-paced cross-functional team. This role provides financial expertise by analyzing large data sets and creating financial models to assist in identifying and recommending new acquisition opportunities. Responsibilities:
- Work as an acquisitions and business development associate, determining whether an asset meets the company’s acquisition criteria.
- Analyze competitor data, development strategies, and industry trends to assist with identifying opportunities across multiple oil & gas basins.
- Analyze and review economic assumptions related to various acquisition opportunities.
- Develop financial models to help advise on prospective acquisitions.
- Perform scoping work on potential acquisition targets based on internal data and publicly available data sources.
- Track, screen, and incoming deal flow based on a defined set of project parameters.
- Collaborate with the A&D Team to coordinate deal flow priorities during the evaluation of acquisitions, divestitures, and/or trades arising from internally generated and third-party deal flow.
- Build an internal A&D Marketplace report that provides an analysis of recent transactions.
- Develop and maintain a process for monitoring current basin activity across multiple basins, which will be used to identify new opportunities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related.
Previous experience evaluating oil & gas opportunities. - Strong background in finance with an aptitude for financial and quantitative analysis.
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial modeling.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to confidently present in front of others.
- Strong work ethic, resourceful, with the ability to be flexible and multi-task.
- Accurate and timely delivery of materials to team members.
- Desire to learn and collaborate.
